Handmade Ceramic French style butter Dish

This ceramic French butter dish will look so good on your counter top while keeping your butter soft and ready to spread. Simply fill the base with cold water and a pinch of salt and it creates a barrier to help preserve your butter. Change the water every couple days, daily when it's hotter outside.

Sizes vary slightly as they are handmade but each is roughly 3" diameter by 2 1/2" high. each will hold roughly 1/3-1/2 cup of butter. Perfect size if you don't use a lot but if you want it soft when you do use it.

These are thrown in the wheel with speckled clay and after bisque firing, glazed in a variety of choices.

Each ceramic piece is carefully crafted in my home studio, using the pottery wheel and various hand tools. Firing is done in a community studio and all glazes used are food safe.

Designed for daily use, they are dishwasher safe. However, to maintain their beauty and longevity, I recommend hand washing your pieces. Microwave and oven use is not recommended as the piece can overheat and become too hot to handle.

I’ve tried my best to capture the true colours of each piece, but as screens can vary, some differences can happen. Measurements can vary slightly from what’s listed where multiple pieces were made in a production run. I’ve done my best to maintain consistency but these are handmade. Where there are extreme differences, separate listings will be created.
